Winifred B.
Haugh, 94, entered into Heaven Monday (June 18, 2012) at home.
Mrs. Haugh was
born on Aug. 9, 1917 in Ambridge, Pa. to Charles W. and Esther Lola (Small)
Brown. She was a 1935 graduate of Corsica Union High School. On June 28, 1940,
she married James R. Haugh, who predeceased her on Feb. 5, 1986.
Winnie devoted
her time as a homemaker; tending to the needs of her family.
Winnie is
survived by two sons; James E. (Judy) Haugh of Herndon, Va. and David R. (Jo
Ann) Haugh of Wellsville; a daughter, Brenda D. Haugh of Andover; two sisters,
Josephine Bruckman of Altoona, Pa. and Emma Jean (Lloyd) Howell of Dundee; a
brother, Charles W. (Mary) Brown Jr.; four grandchildren; nine great
grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to
her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Betty Brown; and a brother, John
A. Brown.
Winnie loved
gardening and tending to her many plants. She enjoyed participating in Bible
studies and taught Sunday school for many years at Andover First Baptist
Church, where she was a member. She was a Cub Scout leader, a Girl Scout leader
and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star as well as the Crystal Valley
Grange. But more than these, she cherished her time spent with her family and
friends.
Friends may call
on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. The funeral
service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Frank
Troutman of the Andover First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow
in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sigel, Pa.
