Joseph Leon
Cherry, 77, passed away Friday (Nov. 30, 2012).
Mr. Cherry was
born on May 5, 1935 in Medina to Leon and Hazel (Oliver) Cherry.
Joe worked 35
years for General Motors in Lockport until his retirement in 1990.
He is survived
by three daughters, Sandra Cherry of Richmond, Va., Angela (Sean)
Cherry-McNamara of Swannanoa, N.C. and Deborah (David) Cherry of Vero Beach,
Fla.; a son, Michael Cherry of Cal.; three sisters, Judy Cherry and Rose
Cherry, both of Daytona, Fla. and Margaret Cieszinski of Springville; four
brothers, Don Cherry and David (Lori) Cherry both of Medina, Roger “Gator”
Cherry of Daytona and Dickie Cherry of Middleport.
He was predeceased
by two daughters, Rose Marie Cherry and Sherry Cherry.
Joe was an avid
gun collector, hunter and fisherman. He loved his time spent in the outdoors.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association
There will be no
prior visitation. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later
date.
Arrangements are
under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive in
Wellsville.
