Mead, 35, passed away Friday (Sept. 5, 2014) at home.
Elizabeth was born on May 3, 1979 in Wellsville to Kathy Reed who later married Milford “Skip” Whitesell, and together they raised Elizabeth through her childhood. She was a 1998 graduate of Andover Central School. On June 22, 2013, in Fillmore, she married James Mead, who survives. In addition to her husband, Liz is survived by two sons, Jayden Reed and Dawson Reed, and a daughter, Miakoda Reed, all of Andover; her mother, Kathy Whitesell of Andover; three sisters, Amanda Whitesell of Wellsville, Racheal Whitesell and Sarah Whitesell, both of Andover; one brother, Timothy Whitesell of Andover; one niece, Abby Stoneham of Wellsville; one aunt, Peggy (David) Dixon of Wellsville; one uncle, David Reed of Wellsville; a step-sister, Mickey Murphy of Wellsville; a step-father, Charles Murphy of Tenn.; and several cousins. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a step-brother, Richard Murphy. Elizabeth had a lifetime love for music. She was in the Andover Central School Color Guard and served as an assistant coach for the girl’s basketball team. As a youth, she was a member of the Andover Girl Scouts. She attended Wellsville Full Gospel Church. She was an avid swimmer but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Friends may call on Saturday from noon-2 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive in Wellsville. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Ralph Eastlack, officiating. Burial in York’s Corner Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. |
