There is a wonderful organization called GUIDING EYES FOR THE BLIND that enlists the volunteer assistance of puppy raisers to prepare their dogs for the life of a guide dog. Karissa raised Marlo for 18 months and at the end of that time, Marlo went into the formal program. She was classified as a breeding dog as she has so many wonderful qualities.
Last May, Marlo left our home and Karissa has been watching her progress. No puppies yet! We took time to go visit Marlo over the weekend. What a wonderful day for a reunion and a walk! ![]() The 42nd Annual Maple Festival April 5th and 6th, 2014 Time to Note The festival is held from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and from 9am to 3pm on Sunday. Genesee Valley Chorus and the Wellsville Performing Arts Orchestra presented Handel's Messiah. I had not seen the church since the completion of the restoration project. Here's a photo from a friend ... can't see the choir very well, but you can see some of the restoration. (I was even farther back, so I didn't even try to get a photo...) This was a lovely concert in a beautiful setting! ![]() I just made a little interactive posting for my Facebook page...I thought the results were good. I kept it kind of short because I loose interest in the long ones . . . It is interesting how these work out ... Erinnae (my daughter) is definitely NOT one to "Bah! Humbug!" anything Christmas, and Abigail (my daughter in law) doesn't own an ugly Christmas sweater. However, Nathanael (my son in law) very definitely would offer a joyful Christmas blessing! A Christmas Carol Cast: Remove the names at the end and replace them with the first 8 names in your chat bar ... in the same order ... Bob Cratchit – faithfully working for a miserly employer - Ashly Palmer Fred – cheerful relative who feels compassion for his uncle - Alethia Ortner Philanthropist seeking donations for those less fortunate - Renea Clifford Ebenezer Scrooge – Bah! Humbug! - Erinnae Cline Ghost of Christmas Past – child-like delight of all things Christmas - Kelly Perkins Fezziwig – Jolly merchant - Karissa Baker Ghost of Christmas Present – Owner of “THE” Christmas sweater - Abigail Baker Undertaker's Apprentice - Gail Wolcott Tiny Tim – “God bless us, every one!” - Nathanael Cline ![]() I hope you didn't miss it! But if you did, there are other performances. The Andover Ecumenical choir performed at the David A. Howe Library in Wellsville on Monday night. The music was a great start for our Christmas celebrations. If you look closely you'll see Bud in the first picture....you have to look harder to find him in the second. ![]() Welcome to the beginnings of our new blogging feature!
