William E. Fredericks, Sr., 76, passed away Monday (May 11, 2020) at Jones Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Fredericks was born on May 24, 1943 in Corning to Levern and Frances Fredericks.
Bill worked as a delivery driver for Wades Building Supply in Addison for many years.
Bill is survived by a son, William E. (Alison Vaughn) Fredericks, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Patricia Lynn (Jeff) Mesuch-Scronce of Dallas, N.C.; a brother, George Fredericks; a sister, Bessie (Harvey) Clark of Addison; a sister-in-law, Alice Fredericks of Florida; a granddaughter, Taylor (Jordan Hall) Fredericks of Lenoir, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Scott P. Fredericks; a brother, Richard Fredericks; a sister, Alice Fredericks; and the mother of his children, Jean Turner.
Bill loved working on cars. At one time he was a professional mechanic. In later years, he became a fixture in his Colony Park Apartments. Though his memory was slipping, he was known as a nice friendly neighbor that was there to greet people he met and was well liked in return. Bill’s favorite past-time was walking downtown Wellsville, usually with his adopted stray cat that he named Kitty. Maybe not the most original name but he adored his cat and it went everywhere with him.
Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.
Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to SPCA Serving Allegany County, 5440 NY-19, Belmont, NY 14813.
