Harlean R. Nees, 81, formerly of Elizabethtown, Pa., passed away Saturday (Oct. 6, 2018) at home with her daughter by her side.
Harlean was born on Feb. 6, 1937 in Ickesburg, Pa. to Herbert and Emma (Benner) Flowers. She worked in retail sales as a manager for Goodwill, Inc. in Elizabethtown for over 15 years until her retirement in 2008.
Harlean is survived by one son, Robert Stephen Ulrich of Maytown, Pa.; one daughter, Jewel (Rusty) Lampman of Shongo; 3 grandchildren, Herbert R. (Stacy) Ulrich of Memphis, Tenn., Kassandra (Ken) Gingrich of Middletown, Pa. and Robert S. (Holly) Ulrich III of Lebanon, Pa.; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Emma Mary Nees.
Harlean was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time in her flower and vegetable garden. She loved to tinker in her yard and build furniture with her daughter Jewel. She also enjoyed crocheting, making afghans for her family as gifts.
Per her wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday (Oct. 9) at 1:00 p.m. at Bainbridge Cemetery in Bainbridge, Pa.
