Wilola I. “Willie” Jones, 82, was called home to be with her Lord on Thursday (July 2, 2015) at Wellsville Manor Care Center.
Mrs. Jones was born on Feb. 9, 1933 in Wellsville to Raymond C. and Alice L. (Johnson) Mead. On Jan. 18, 1969 she married Francis M. Jones, who predeceased her on May 1, 2004. Willie was a loving homemaker and devoted wife. She dedicated her life to serving her family. Willie is survived by five daughters, Kathy Hills, Lisa Hitchcock and Michele (Bradley) Speta, all of Wellsville, Bobbi Jo (Kenneth) Michels of Mattydale and Jennifer Allen of Rexville; one son, Kenneth (Shawn) Murray of Pembroke, Ga.; one brother, Lester Mead of Bolivar; one sister, Esther Kayes of Olean; a special friend, Clifford George of Nunda; 17 grandchildren, Travis Murray, Dresden Murray, Samantha Murray, Cristy (Patrick) Randolph, Brad (Margo) Hills, Michael Hills, Anita Hitchcock, Robyn Hitchcock, Abbey Hitchcock, Kayla Hitchcock, Beth Wightman, Courtney Speta, Kenny Michels, Stephanie Michels, Katie Michels, Allison (Jason) Langston and Brittney Allen; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Linda Murray; three brothers, Raymond Mead, Richard Mead and Robert Mead; and two sons-in-law, Kevin Hills and Randy Allen. Willie had many interests. She enjoyed camping and fishing in Canada. She was an avid BINGO enthusiast and liked to crochet, play cards and work on jig saw puzzles. She collected angels and teddy bears. She was a lifelong member of the Frank B. Church VFW Post 2530. Additionally, she was a huge Elvis fan but more than these, she loved her family and friends; cherishing the times spent with them. Visitation will be held on Wednesday (July 8) from 3-4 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive in Wellsville. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Bill Sylor of the Genesis Bible Church, officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville will be at the convenience of the family.
