Scott D. Dodge, 52, passed away Sunday (Jan. 4, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Dodge was born on Jan. 16, 1962 in Wellsville to William and Donna (Sandberg) Dodge. He was a 1981 graduate of Wellsville Central School. On july 16, 1994, at Hallsport Christian Church, he married Terry A. Fanton, who survives.
Scott worked as a machinist for Release Coating in Wellsville until his retirement in 2008 due to complications with his health. He previously worked for Bells Supermarket and Giant Foods, both in Wellsville.
In addition to his wife, Scott is survived by his son, William Dodge of Wellsville; his mother, Donna Dodge of Wellsville; two sisters, Pamela King and Nancy (John Burdick) Dodge, both of Wellsville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Becky Fanton of Wellsville; two sisters-in-law, Erica (Eric) Campbell of Penfield and Michelle (Terry Stempina) Fanton of Jamestown; five nephews, Corey, Gary and Jeremy King, Josh Burdick and Evan Campbell; two nieces, Lori Brownell and Lilly Campbell; and several aunts, uncles, grand nephews, grand nieces and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Bradley Dodge.
Scott lived a many faceted life. He enjoyed the quiet solitude of fishing and loved the ups and downs of being a very avid Buffalo Bills fan. He was blessed with a large extended family and many friends and loved the times that he could spend with them. He considered himself a regular people person with a gift of putting others at ease around him, even with those he newly met.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Riverside Assembly of God Church in Wellsville on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Attendees are asked to wear a football jersey, preferably Buffalo Bills, in memory of Scott. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Baker-Swan Funeral Home, 3256 Riverside Drive in Wellsville.
