On March 31, 1951, at the Blessed Sacrament rectory in Andover, he married Carol A. Payne, who survives. He was predeceased by three sisters, Josephine Butler, Suzanne Slocum and Corrine Atwell and one brother, James Hyland. Paul enjoyed gardening and especially took pride in his tomatoes. His love for country music prompted him to take many charter bus trips with his wife to country music destinations such as Branson, Mo. In high school, he was a talented athlete and carried that sports enthusiasm over to later life as an avid sports fan, especially enjoying Willie Mays. Paul was a long time member of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Moore Lodge 1580 and the Wellsville Moose Lodge 601. Additionally, he was a former Andover Village Trustee and served as president of the Andover Little League. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover.
