Cecil R. “Dick” Clark, 81, passed away Sunday (March 22, 2015) at Hart Comfort House in Wellsville, surrounded by family.
Mr. Clark was born on June 16, 1933 in Bradford, Pa. to Cecil F. and Francis (Johnson) Clark. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-57. On Nov. 15, 1958, at the Christian Temple in Wellsville, he married Nellie Mae Day, who survives. Dick was a welder for Air Preheater for 33 years until his retirement in 1995. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Dick is survived by two sons, Mark R. (Cynthia) Clark of Rochester and Cameron (Dawn) Clark of Farmington; three daughters, Kimberly Kalkhof of Hallsport, Julie (Bernard) Roulston of Burke and Carmel (Keith) DeMun of Wellsville; five sisters, Barbara (Dorr) Olds of Wellsville, Joan (Charley) Wallace and Sylvia Lehman, both of Andover, Pauline (Garth) Hulin of Wabash, Ind. and Carol Roth of Fla.; three brothers, Jack (Glenna) Clark, Larry (Wanda) Clark and Dale (Marsha) Clark, all of Andover; a sister-in-law, Mary Phyllis Clark of Wellsville; a brother-in-law, David Ankeny of Crofton, Md.; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Ankney and a brother, Ernest Blair Clark. Dick was an avid outdoorsman where he loved to hunt and fish. In his backyard, he would hone his skills with archery target practice and skeet shooting. In times past, he and his wife liked to camp and snowmobile together. He was a longtime member of the NRA. Dick was a devoted family man and cherished the times he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. There will be no prior visiting hours. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover with Rev. Daniel Kenyon of the Wellsville Bible Church, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Whitesville Rural Cemetery. Taps will be offered by his grandson, Benjamin Roulston.
