Frances I. Manroe, 91 passed away Thursday (May 30, 2013) in Arcadia, Fla.
Mrs. Manroe was born on June 9, 1921 in Hornell to Elmer and Bertha (Bice) Foster. On April 26, 1937 in Andover, she married Charles W. Manroe, who predeceased her on June 21, 1990.
Frances was a fulltime homemaker, tending to the needs of her husband and children.
Frances is survived by one son, Francis Charles (Koneta) Manroe, Sr. of Canisteo; two daughters, Nancy Osgood of Arcadia, Fla. and Susan (Bob) Emery of Andover; a sister, Rebecca Schweigart of Andover; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Foster and Rose Foster; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Elmer Manroe; two sisters, Miriam Morton and Mildred Rose; two brothers, Theodore Foster and Harry Foster; and two great grandchildren, Krista Burgess and Samantha Wheatcraft.
Frances enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She was an avid reader and loved her country music. She was a longtime member of the Andover Baptist Church and the Andover Golden Agers.
There will be no prior visitation. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday (June 15) at 11 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Andover, with Rev. Chris Mattison, officiating.
