Obituary  
ANDOVER Ernest G. Mike Burdick, III, 63, passed away Saturday (July 11, 2009) at VA of WNY Healthcare Systems in Buffalo.

Mr. Burdick was born on Oct. 18, 1945 in Wellsville to Ernest G., Jr. and Regina M. (Barton) Burdick. He was a 1962 graduate of Wellsville Central School.

Mike enlisted in the US Army in 1962 and served two years and reenlisted in the US Navy and served an additional 18 years, retiring from the service in 1986.

Mike is survived by his mother, Regina M. Barton of Trenton, Fla.; a son, Michael Shawn Burdick of Martinsville, Ind.; two sisters, Maureen Burdick of Butler, NJ and Marisa (David) Sessions of Trenton, Fla.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a son, Richard Burdick, who died in combat in Iraq; and a brother, also Richard Burdick.

Mike served his country proudly and was a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Hillside Cemetery in Andover with full military honors.
