Obituary  
ANDOVER Martha L. Greene, 94, passed away Wednesday (June 17, 2009) at Wellsville Manor Care Center.

Mrs. Greene was born on Jan. 13, 1915 in Fairmont, WV to Ernest C. and Mavia M. (Johnson) Nuzum. She was a 1931 graduate of East Fairmont Senior High. On Nov. 9, 1940 in Fairmont, she married E. Carlton Greene, who predeceased her on April 13, 1991.

Martha is survived by three sons, Edward (Susan) Greene of Midlothian, Va., James (Jane) Greene of Derry, NH, William (Sheila) Greene of Andover; a daughter, Martha Boyer of Andover; two brothers, Robert Nuzum of Sylvania, OH and John Nuzum of Fairmont, WV; a sister, Wilda Musgrove of Columbus, OH; ten grandchildren, Daniel (Michelle) Greene, Sarah (David) Goode, Emily Greene, Megan Greene, Melissa (Robert) Jasper, Robyn (Mat) Hanon, William (Denise) Greene, Stacey (Eric) Taylor, Sean Boyer and Melanie Boyer; 13 great grandchildren; two special friends, Lynn Bunke and Allison Midgley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Willard Nuzum and Noel Nuzum; and two sisters, Mildred Henry and Sarah Dodd.

Martha was a proud homemaker and to her children, Mom was an Angel. She was well known in the area for her skills in sewing, upholstery, knitting, crocheting and painting. Additionally, she loved gardening, growing flowers and landscaping her yard. She was a longtime member of Andover Presbyterian Church.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 8 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Andover Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dean Bembower, officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Brook Cemetery, Andover.
