Mr. Kelley was born on Feb. 17, 1921 in Hornell to Earl and Ella (Norton) Kelley. On Dec. 3, 1947 he married Ethel Mae Crowner, who survives. In 1985 they moved to Brooksville after his retirement from Worthington (Dresser-Rand) in Wellsville. Fred was a WWII veteran, serving with the Marines in the Pacific, and he enjoyed writing and telling stories about his war experience. He lived by the motto Once a Marine, always a Marine. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Kelley, who lost his life serving as a submariner in the Pacific during WWII. He will always be remembered for his wonderful stories and beautiful smile. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Christian by faith. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Ethel Kelley of Brooksville, he is survived by two daughters, Rebecca ( Robert) Fanton of Wellsville and Nora Sample of Brooksville; a son, Fred C. (Tracy) Kelley, Jr. of Wellsville; a sister Evelyn Brotzman of New York; nine grandchildren, Terry (Scott) Dodge, Michelle Fanton, Erica Fanton, Fred L.
