Obituary
ANDOVER Ruth S. Mosher, 82, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (March 3, 2009) at Highland Hospital in Rochester following a short illness.

Mrs. Mosher was born on May 22, 1926 in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of Fortunato and Custodia (Oliveria) Sylvia and was close to her loving step-father, Joaquim Jack Dias. On March 23, 1946 in Almond, she married Leland C. Lee Mosher, who survives. They lived in Hornell until 1969 and then moved to Wellsville. The past 20 years they have resided with their daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Wayne in Andover.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, Ruth is survived by two daughters, Judi (Wayne) Grant of Andover and Dawn (Danny) Grant of Randleman, NC; a son, Alan (Nancy) Mosher of Wellsville; two sisters, Beverly Sylvia of Brooksville, Fla. and Jacquline (George) Mello of Fairhaven, Mass.; a brother, Francis (Judy) Dias of Zionsville, Ind.; ten grandchildren, Danielle Cleveland, Misti Grant, Mindi (Peter) Graham, Seth (Shelly) Grant, Melissa Grant, Starr Grant, Trevor Grant, Stephanie (Brady) Sturm, Allison Mosher and Jessica Mosher; ten great grandchildren, Kylee Grant-Graham, Logan Graham, Madison Graham, Peyton Graham, Hannah Sturm, Destiny Grant, Cameron Simmons, Keyaira Brooks, Dayja Grant and Willie Grant; two special friends, Anna Brown and Lorraine Ross; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a son, John Everett and a sister, Joan Ellis.

Ruth was an avid BINGO player. She was a member and past Nobel Grand of the Rebeccas Hornell Lodge 105 and a member of IOOF 251where she assisted with the BINGO games for 48 years. She was a movie enthusiast with an incredible knowledge of film and actor trivia. But more than this, she was a loving and devoted wife and homemaker and was happiest spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Peggy Knopf of United Methodist Church of Andover, officiating. There will be a private burial in Fairview Cemetery in Almond at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in Ruths name may be made to Andover Rescue Squad, PO Box 726, Andover, NY 14806.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me: Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. - Psalm 23
